To DC, then Guatemala

Well I had been waiting for so very long it seemed for the day to arrive for me to start my time with the Peace Corps. I leave tomorrow morning, August 26, (which is why I'll be keeping this brief) for Washington DC for a brief 2-day orientation. I'll meet up with the other 30 volunteers that are going to Guatemala and we'll all fly down early Wednesday morning, August 28, to Guatemala where we'll start our 12 weeks of training. I think, while during training, I should be able to get access to a computer to really start updating my blog. After that though, I'll probably have to send up letter to be typed here (Thanks Mom!). Let me know if you would be willing to receive a letter to type on the blog to give my mom a rest by sending me an email.

I certainly appreciate all the prayers, notes, emails, gifts, and everything else family and friends have given me. For me, the prayers are the most important and helpful support I can get as I start this new adventure in my life.

Know that my love goes out to all my family and friends, and that I'll be praying and thinking about you while I am down there.

Joe! I can hardly believe you're leaving today - I'm leaving on Saturday for my study abroad in Germany so I feel like I understand some of what you're experiencing. I will miss you tremendously!! Know that I'll be praying for you and excited to hear what you're up to.
Love, Claudia
